2003 Specialty Show and Obedience Trial Results
Thanks to all who came out for the 32nd Annual Specialty Show and Obedience Trial at Featherly Park! We had a fabulous entry, some lovely judges to show our dogs to, and even the weather was gorgeous for humans and dogs alike! This newsletter almost exclusively contains results from the specialty, and Mrs. Heather Wiles-Fone was kind enough to provide critiques of the first and second place winners from the classes as well as her top honor winners. Without further ado, here’s what Heather wrote: “Firstly I would like to take this opportunity of expressing my gratitude to the Club for inviting me to judge their Specialty. I thoroughly enjoyed the appointment and it was a pleasure to go over some really lovely exhibits. I cannot let it pass without saying a big thank you to the committee for the wonderful hospitality we received ... it was very much appreciated! Best in Specialty went to CH. WYNMAR SCOTTISH NIGHT, an eye catching black dog, full of quality and presented in gleaming condition. I loved his well shaped head, correct length and depth of muzzle, clean neck set into well laid shoulders, plenty of depth thro’ the brisket. He was firm over the loin, had a lovely otter tail, and his movement was a joy to watch. He exudes great breed type and never put a foot wrong when showing. Best of Opposite Sex went to CH. KELLEYGREENS AMAZING GRACE. What a gorgeous bitch, so beautifully constructed and perfectly balanced throughout. She looked right from any angle, with a sweet well defined head, correct shoulder placement, and strong wide hindquarters. She moved true going and coming… a top quality bitch! Best of Winners was Winner’s Dog, GINGERBRED CROUCHING TIGER. He was a very typey black dog “out of the top drawer”, excelling in his lovely head and good reach of neck. He’s deep thro’ the body with excellent spring of rib, firm topline, strong well developed quarters, showed with enthusiasm & has all the essentials to take him to the top.”
